I like that drum sound, it sounds huge! Never heard of "sample rock" before, but I like this tune and it definitely rocks.
Sample Rock is the name I use for tracks that use rocky drums and electric guitars that are all programmed in as opposed to being played live.
I.E. they are sampled rock drums and sampled rock guitars and therefore "Sample Rock!
Apollo Four Forty is the best example of a popular sample rock group.
This is a great track, it's got a massive sound & has a brill set of ideas!
Those drums are certainly distorted! I like the breakdown in the middle
