Take a Breath

Just a lil sump'n soothing to maybe turn the crazy down for a little while.

A lot's been posted on the Interwebs about the Deluge's synth engines not sounding that great. I've also struggled with voice-stealing during past projects. So this week I began digging into both issues. I made a synth sound that I like quite a bit (the big pad, first thing you hear) and learned whatever I could find about conserving voices/CPU/etc. on the Deluge.

I... also started a few big music projects with summer deadlines. There's part of me that thinks, yeah, I need to back-burner WeeBeats while I get through these other deadlines. There's another part that thinks WeeBeats might actually energize me and give me a nice break in the evenings by letting me work on something that's not for a client. So who knows how that'll shake out, but I'm rooting for the latter possibility.

hugs to all.

I hope you manage to continue. I know it's hard to come up with something each week, but I have faith that you'll AVOID the burnout by keeping up with WB as a "reprise" from work.

Great work on this track. It's so calming and nice. Like I'm walking around at night in stardew valley or something.

Thank you! I had to look up Stardew Valley... lol <not much of a gamer>

Interestingly, I just completed a 10-track album for a publisher whose whole concept is sparseness. He wants his composers to use ≤ 4 unique parts/instruments in each song. It was a pretty fun exercise, and it's what I've done here, unintentionally (drums count as 1, thank goodness). I ran out of time to make this piece more complex, which may be a good thing, but it feels like plenty for the mood.

Thanks for taking time to listen!
