Hit Play

By ModuLoBro on March 15, 2026 9:56 pm

Deluge only. This week's focus: Euclidean sequencing, which I'd never done before; and then probability and iteration-based ("play on the 3rd of every 4 reps" sort of thing).

I didn't build any Scenes (Deluge supports Ableton-style scenes for triggering entire song sections at once). That would've made too much sense. lol... Instead I made a Garanimals setup - i.e. every clip goes with every other clip, more or less - and then improvised with bringing them in and out.

I found out how much prep should really go into such a thing, because the result feels quite aimless to me. Maybe that speaks to how much of my "work" music involves well-defined structures.

I called it "Hit Play" in reference to the (now long-ago, not entirely true) Deadmau5 essay called, "We All Hit Play."

Cheers!

So good, is like 80s cyberpunk with a sprinkle of 2077 heart

Love the dark, cool and mysterious vibes. Great melody with the chimey sounds at the end

Excellent sounding bass with a head nodder of a drum groove.  Love those stutter hits especially.  Well done!
