Sharp Tongue (Crouching 80's Hidden Acronym cover)

By MLDVR on October 14, 2012 11:13 am

SHIT. Never again. Never again Garageband. I should just get Logic Pro already FFS.

Anyway, i made a cover of a song from a band called Crouching 80's Hidden Acronym, an excellent band who are very good mates. And yes its a chippy cover BUT instead of LSDJ, i used the YMCK Magical 8 Bit plugin/VST. It was very difficult trying to decipher it by ear ( I did get some help from the band members themselves ) and its not perfect and quite too sloppy at times, particularly towards the bit after the 2nd chorus that i couldn't get right no matter what I did, but ran out of time. That being all said I hope that the dudes will like it enough.

Go here to listen to the original superior track and while you are there treat yourself to some yummy music. Rara Avis (now known as Roland Major to not be confused with a german band of the same name) is great too and they'll both be playing at the house gig i'm holding on the 8th of December as well as yours truly making a live premiere.

Remember kids, i have a Facebook page now so you brag to your friends how much you like my music

yeh rules. almost certain i have something of theirs on my external HD? i recognise the name anyway

You are the Daniel Johnston of 8 bit smile Good stuff.

Holy snap, thats the best compliment i've ever heard, i got to repost that.

I checked out the original to get a good context on this. Very clever rendition. Chiptune yes, but not typical. You have a much more experimental approach that always refreshing to hear.
