Fresh Coat Of Taint, Columbian Blue (Mono Version)

By MLDVR on April 29, 2012 11:48 am

First LSDJ song on an actual Game Boy. 5th LSDJ song overall. Im starting to get the hang of it. Wrote it as a stereo song, don't actually own the interface to do so. So i've put it as mono and I'll put up a stereo version later in my next compilation.

Not to sound too narcissistic, but I love the melody and the noisy/shoegazy sort of vibe, as well as the fun i've had with tables and volume envelopes. BUT I could've done a much better job with the arrangement, honestly I hard a hard time with it, even changing around stuff at the last minute, it was either too short or too long. So file this under "If i had more time then i would do...." Otherwise i'm pretty happy with it. Please be patient, it gets better after the 2 minute mark.

On a short note, i've officially played my first gig (at the house gig i was holding) as the drummer of a grindcore band christened Kangaroo Kebab. We didn't actually have any songs so in true grind fashion we winged it with distortion and blast beats for about 10 minutes. We should be recording and writing songs soon, complete with parodically obscene lyrics that i honestly didn't write.

awesome stuff

Great style you got going there.  BTW, are you using tables yet?  Tables for percussion = crazy awesom

Thanks man. And yeah i'm starting to wrap my head around tables, particularly with some of the volume envelopes for echos and little arpeggiated chords, i had the pulse channels in mind when i made them for this song so next time i'll try it with the kit and noise smile

this was a fun listen

Nice work, a bit iffy at some parts but good job!

Thanks Geogre bowles

PWR i do agree with you that some of it is quite iffy. All part of the learning process, Thanks for the criticism.
