Thin Veil

By miraclemiles on October 30, 2016 11:52 pm

It's been getting harder and harder to make time for weekly beats, but fortunately this year I've gotten a lot faster and creating things. This week I took a few elements from a couple weeks ago (vocoded vocals), then built from there with some new synth sounds and more. Did the usually chopping, tapping and tweaking on the Push for a few hours this week, then sat down and kept some of what I liked. I like the feel of this, but I want more bass, maybe more of the synths that are just in the middle. Song's not particularly spooky or anything, but the title came from having conversations this week about how this time of year the veil between living and dead, heaven and earth and the like is the thinnest ... ooh spooky, and happy day of the dead, halloween and all that.

I hear a pretty decent low end presence on hear... less spooky than intended, maybe, but quite funky!

Pretty active veil; cartoon spooky. Love it.

thanks much. yeah, I guess the low end holds it down enough smile ... I'll take funky over spooky on most days smile

Yes indeed, thanks much!!

Makes me want to bob my head along with it.  Love the driving feel of it and the funny voices... I assume that's the vocoder in action?

thanks! head bobbing is a good thing. The vocal loop that carries throughout is my vocoded voice, the funny female voice is just sample chopped up and pitched up smile

finding time for weeklybeats can be tough, but man does this help train to be faster at production and creativity! I found myself tapping my fingers to this tune, awesome stuff smile
