Sueno Flotante

By miraclemiles on January 16, 2022 11:58 pm

Week 2, here we go! Takes some motivation to get back into the habit each week, but hearing all the awesome songs from last week here is some good inspiration!

This one came about after playing with the Spitfire Labs free strings instrument. First song I've done with string sounds, I think. More to learn and try. Started with a quick improvised string thing tapped out on the Push then built up from there. Did a bit a piano lead thing, but then switched it to a handpan sound. Finger drummed some drum parts on the Push last week then today played live drums. I think I'd like a more straight forward beat in here, for v2 actually.
I was playing around and chopping up some vocal samples, and ended up keeping this one that said "Sueno" which means dream. Felt there was a floating feeling in here, so made it sueno flotane (floating dream).

Couldn't tell you why this gave me military vibes. Possibly those strings remind me of the C&C Generals soundtrack big_smile

Very cool man, love the energy.  Strings sound great on this too.  Which Spitfire strings did you use for this?

Oh wow the string sound quality is really good. And nothing is as good as real live drumming from a really good drummer, this brings so much energy and life to a track!

This has a really epic feel to it.  It could definitely soundtrack a movie.  I feel you on getting back in the habit.  I'm definitely not totally in Weekly Beats mode yet, but I'm getting there.

Nice and diverse palette of sounds and as said above a great cinematic vibe.

Cool vibe on this one, lots of variety to keep things interesting, love using LABS, so many quality sounds from a free plugin

This is an energy-booster dream with calypso feeling inside. well done sir.

I hadn't thought that, but now that you say it I can totally hear that too! Could totally see a remix of this where it's even more military marchy. I love it when someone hears something different in a track, thanks!

Awesome thanks so much. Yeah the under the Spitfire Labs product (the free stuff), I think theres just one or two orchestral-type string instruments to download, I used one of those. Using as plugin in Ableton.

Right on thanks! I'm now more committed to sticking to the live drumming goal, so more to come!

Thanks! I usually don't think I go in soundtrack mode, but this one kind of accidentally came out that way, maybe there will be more. Yeah, the habit is tough, I'm feeling more motivated this week than last so that's good I reckon.

Right on, thank you! Glad all that variety kind of worked out! Heck yes LABS, I've only used a few instruments so far, and so good!

Oooh yes, calypso dreams are my favorite! Glad some energy was boosted. Thanks you, sir. smile

you are for real such a good drummer.

REALLY great job matching the energy from the string with the drums.

Cool use of the strings with the epic sounding drums.  Digging those bassy synths too.  The handpan sounds excellent as well. Nice work!
