Remix of live band recording/ jam session. Same group of folks I recorded with and remixed a few weeks back for the track I called Red Dress. This second session had a great conga player, the parts I chose for this track were pretty much just drums, congas, and vocals. This session had a few mic's set up, but sound was still not great, so like with that last track I beefed it up and made it pretty crunchy and dirty (probably too dirty actually) with the Sausage Fattener plugin, beefed up low-end with Corpus Sub Kick Maker preset, used some Vulf compressor for master track. I also used some of the drum samples from that last session to add better drums. Took one of the clips and sliced to simpler and tapped out the choppy vocal parts. Ableton's new Simpler is so great, I just stumble into things that sounds, and just scratching the surface. I think it was 14 tracks of stuff in all. The dirty mix is fun, but of course could use more tweaking, but it is what is and can really only squeeze so much out of the source. I added the middle little melody part using Afro DJ Mac's Pocket Operator sample packet I used from last week too. The dubby stabs and bassline come from a Mad Zach sample pack. I'm enjoying trying out the many sounds available out there to try, and someday sculpting and and sampling my own will be the goal.
Title: I think this is part of what singer is saying ... "look at my girl, she be working??" I don't really know. Maybe he remembers, but I doubt it.
