River's Reverie

By miraclemiles on March 31, 2024 11:03 pm

Here is a little handpan flow rounded out with some percussion and other textures.
After the regular chaos and bustle of the week, I needed to work on something calm. Another exploration of what to do with the handpan and tongue drum jams I enjoy.
Went down to the river to unwind and observe the changes, which was wonderful.

love the video!  i'm just imagining a purple sky because we're on another planet

i like when it gets empty and then you drop back in all the elements

great ending to the video too heart

Love a walk to the river! This is really calming and rejuvenating!

This is very grounding. It has an hypnotic calming effect. Thanks.

Really cool track with sweet rhythms and a nice flow.  Like floating down a river for sure.  Nice accompanying video as well.  Nature is always restorative and there's something about seeing flowing water that is especially so.

Awesome handpan and percs! Nice flowy, chill vibe. It's always good to unwind with nature.

Distorted handpans is a unique sound. I dig that, worth exploring!

You're leaning into the world music aspect this time around, which builds an interesting scene. Do you have all those acoustic handpans, djembes, and tablas?

I love this! It's so surreal and immersive. There's so many elements I feel like you could widen the mix even further for even more immersion.

Thank you! Yes to purple skies, we are on another planet. I should figure out how to do that in the video. I love the loud/quiet, or empty/full juxtaposition, I forget to do play with that. I recall some of you songs using that well!

Thanks for comment. A walk to river is always nice! My 4 legged friend came with me on this walk. He was happy happy good boy. Glad this was calming for you. Gotta be calm sometimes I guess.

Thank you! Glad you flowed with the track. Nature is the secret sauce for the healthy life. Happy to have a river walk by.

Thanks for checking it out. Yeah I like the distorted pan and tongue drum, been playing with those more and more since it something I can actually play, which is more fun than playing on keys or pads. Drums and percussion are my main instrument, I have a tongue drum, handpan, djembe, various percs, and edrums that I play. No tablas, I played those on the Roland handsonic, which sounds ok, and at least can play with hands.

Thanks glad you liked! Great idea on widening the mix! All about trying to get some immersion.

Other worldly rhythms throughout!  The low gritty bass sounds extra good kicking in with the handpan.  Nods head along to the groove.
