Nickel in My Pocket

Could we call this a western beat? Yes, I think we just did. We'll take the western part of country & western any day. Rode bikes along a trail in Long Beach, Washington. What kind of music to go with that ride? Western Beats, that's what. Thanks to brother Joe for putting some tasty Western in the earholes this summer. Sounds here from a Creatures Once session with Monstrosus on the guitar and harmonica and myself on some beats. I came back later with some vocals, saying something about nickels in pockets and taking it slow -- don't wanna fight. We a peaceful crew. Our unlikely protaganist in this impromptu story is Devi the dog who doesn't take it slow or have any nickels in her pockets, but she sure can yank a frisbee from the ocean like nobody's business. Yee haw, here we go, another one!

Western beat! I love the vibe of this track, with the western guitar, the laid back vibe, the perfect vocals for this. The sounds that are like a pocket full of nickels clinging against each other was a nice touch. We need more western beats! There were also very funky elements in this, loved it.

Awww yea! This track is jumpin like a wranglin boss of a hoss! heart

american future folk music. the guitar and the beat are so cool. love it.

Fun track.  It gives me some early Beck vibes.  Love the video from the dog's perspective.

I need a big belt buckle for this track smile  Feeling those western vibes in the guitar/harmonica lines.  Vocals remind me a bit of some Beck tracks too.  *nods head*

Thank you! Glad you liked! I was browsing around and found that sample that sounded like nickels, was excited. Glad you noticed. Thought of you again when I added that lol. I agree, we can totally have more western beats, especially if they're funky! Let's go!

Thanks! Ah yes, I can totally hear that. I do like early Beck, pretty much all Beck actually. I sure enjoyed seeing the world from the Dog's Eye View. So low! How do they do it?!
