Had a feeling for funk this week. Heard this first descending keyboard sample from Canton Becker and thought yep, this. Reminded me of some old school track, but haven't placed it yet. Started playing around with other bits and pieces, having fun playing with sound on the Push and all this rolled out. Chopped up a glitchy drum sample from Jens Bugay-Hougaard for one of the drum layers. Chopped up guitar and some voice samples from somewhere. Improvised some vocals, recording first ideas. Then added in some sounds from Arturia's virtual mini-moog. Got lots of good bleeps, bloops and other layers out of that. Another week messing with the next thing, and ready for the next and the next. The smoke has finally moved on, ready to go out and get some air. Keep rolling on, thanks for stopping by, see you in the comments!

This is some prime quality bleeping and blooping going on in here.  I feel like I'm being flung around in a pit filled with bubbles that emit light when they pop.

The way the track shifts at that 1-minute mark is so rad. I find your choice of sounds and how you combine them really inspiring. Awesome work.

back to the beasty boys aera. More old schooly hiphop than funk in my oppinion, we can hear in this thing. Experimental an inspiring as always. Fingerlicking good.

Nice old school hip hop feel! Love that descending chromatic scale and crunchy drum sounds. About 2 minutes in, there's a Moog arp riff that sounds like OMD.  I thought it was a sample at first. Sweet sounds of chaos!

Nice abrasive/glitchy drums, love how the sounds are all so different but they all work together, see you next week on the next thing.

Ha yea I was totally getting a BBoys vibe with that PEww-pew-pew-pew sample.  It's got that vinyl sample scratch quality to it.  The bass sounds super good with those crunchy beats too.

That's very cool, quirky and groovy. This is just awesome.

Hey thanks so much, that is awesome to hear that! Yeah I like that middle section at one minute ... may have to take some of that into its own thing someday.

Yes, my influences can be heard I think! Old school hip hop true. I find that the funk can be found all around in all the genres smile Glad it was tasty for ya, cheers!

Thanks, yeah that descending sample so good, got me excited to make a track, nice when that happens. Yeah was fun to play with this Moog virtual synth on this for sure. It's pretty deep, wish I could play with the real thing. Thanks for listening!
