Micro Dose Age

By miraclemiles on January 19, 2020 9:48 pm

Looking at a lot of snow this week. And pushing it out of the way. Shaking it out of my pants.
Didn't know what to create, but felt drawn to some more of the Circuit MonoStation sounds. Found a session where I also recorded some drums on the Circuit, and some PO12 ran through the MonoStation. Most of the sounds here are from that session, and added some other drum samples in Ableton. I usually slice stuff and play it on the Push. This week, perhaps because the basement was too cold, and my pants were full of snow, I just laid under blankets and did a lot of micro edits of samples in Ableton. Sliced things down, drew some envelopes, tried new FX and created again in the theme of getting a little weird. Vocal sample from Sample Swap. Like the audio edits, I prefer the snow in my pants to be in micro doses as well.

Here's some snow, and some wavforms from the project:

This is brain melting stuff.  Might work on snow, too.

An awesome groove formed out of this, loved the huge monster-y sounds! Very scifi

Sometimes the brain has to get a little melted wink --- I think I will try it on snow too, good idea!!

Thanks! Glad the groove came through ... we're lost without the groove! The mostery creatures gotta come out to play sometimes!

PO12 life! I didn't even recognize it in here, you mangled it pretty good w/ your magic box. I love the weird visceral stereo stuff going on and the big boop with the reverb halfway through. Your mono station sounds are some of my faves of yours, real chunky and forward.

Great outlandish mix, I really like how it all comes together. Is it a voice sample or a synth saying the da-da-da-da?

this sounds like an acid trip.

Yeah nice trip. My favorite part is where the hihats get faster... with these drops and risers and the dark voice smile
And then when the gets completly dry...

Daaang, good ear as usual, PO12 indeed. yeah, heavily mangled through all the monostation analog circuitry.

Outlandish sounds about right wink. I was thinking of Outlander, kind of Scottish vibe ... kidding. That's a voice sample I grabbed for some pack. usually i make the mouth noises myself, but fun to grab stuff sometimes. Thanks for listening and comment!!

Sounds about right, yes indeed. I must have been having flashbacks this week, or maybe my brains just a little perma dosed.
