Make Up the Mind >> Run Out of Time

Had dub on my mind this week again. Sat down with hardware and jammed for an hour. It was a lot of fun, but it can sure be hard to make a track out of an hour's worth of stuff. So I limited my selection to the first 20 minutes, and will save the rest for another potential track. Hardware used is the Novation Circuit family: Tracks, Rhythm (drums and synths and FX) and Monostation (for bass). I guess I've become a bit of a Circuit fanboy. I like the similarities between them, and it's nice to be able to use the same muscle memory on all machines, cut down the cognitive load on my aging brain. Then the nice dreamy synth leads are from the Organelle, and voice through the Kaoss pad into the Circuit Rhythm's grid FX, which are crazy fun. So everything here recorded during the jam then edited down. I also threw in some live drum stuff in the end that I had recorded earlier in the week. Title comes from parts of the vocals. I wrote down a few words to get started, then certain ones end up being said the most. I like the idea of making decisions before its too late (and the decision gets made for you) though, it's always been a challenge.

It sounds like you guys have a lot of fun. Vocals through kaos padd is fun indeed. I like also the lines that have a lot of delays piling up. I wanted to hear more of the military style snare that appears towards the end. Quite a trip!

This song has a nice bounce, I especially like the bass line!

A good dub is always welcome. This one has the capacity for a whole album. what is coming from the rest of the jam? you are very creative and experimental as always. love it.

Trippy, fun, and lots of wild textures!  It's a good one for sure.

This one was just a solo jam, but was fun indeed! Yeah gotta pile the delays, feel like there's some good possibilities there. Glad you liked that snare, that was some live drumming, will include more of that on next track I make from this jam!

Thanks! bounce is good! I thought the bass at first may be like a kick, tried to make it short. Looking forward to another jam soon!

I feel like dub is something I always enjoy and welcome, glad you like it too. Going to make at least another track from this session for sure. Appreciate the comment about creative and experimental, those are goals I shoot for.

Trippy, fun and wild - I like those words,  thanks much for checking it!

This has some really cool sounds and effects, the howling/hollering midway reminds me of Bollywood movies my parents would watch when I was a kid, really enjoying your dub tunes

There are always so many interesting sounds to enjoy in your tracks. I love the sense of spontaneity and controlled chaos in them.

Nice chill montage. I like discovering all the different sounds and messages phasing in an out.  You got some really nice beats going too!

Excellent dubs feels here. Especially enjoyed that breakdown in the middle. Nice work!

I assume the 4:20 runtime is purely coincidence? wink The montage nature of this works really well, dreamlike.
