Love in a Digital

Still here making the beats on the weekly, but I'm disappointed I missed last week. Figured I would be back in town in time to finish a track last week but instead had a nice reminder of the obvious truth that I can't predict the future. Funny needed a reminder of that.

This song takes some improvised vocal takes then vocoded with Live's vocoder and pitched with some chords. Sliced up a few of the different vox takes to add some more percussive / instrumental sounds made from the vocals. Simple drums, but kind of glad I did that after so many recent weeks of super busy drums and perc. Also keeping it casual on the bass and used one or two notes, then arpeggiated, sidechained to quarter notes using pATCHES free Pump plugin, great for some easy sidechaining. Name from something I said the vocals, and don't remember why or what it meant. I think that's my motto for the week - Don't need to know why and don't need a meaning (work in progress).

Awesome vocal effects.  It has a real upbeat positive feel to it.  I think the simpler drum beat works really well for this one.

Love those fast edits. Don't know if i'd call it upbeat though.

Ha that's cool the vocoder melody is nice and happy and the beat makes me bob in my chair big_smile

That end catched me by suprise... wink

Ooo, nice beat, and very nice intro of that bass heart

Thanks a lot! I'm glad I went a bit simpler on this weeks beat, and glad the bass wasn't a total fail since I didn't work on it much!

This is groovy! Excellent blend of the crunchy digital side of sound with the warm, human voices, a pleasure to listen to big_smile
