Crunchy Wax

Made from all vinyl samples, with exception of the bass line the middle and the guitar part in the middle was sampled from a live session recording. Grabbed a handful of records from the crates, cued up on the 1200 and grabbed what sounded good at the moment. Sliced into Simpler and tapped out some parts. Made it even more muddy with some effects on the master track, probably too muddy actually smile. Anyway, could have used more time (and inspiration) to fine tune, but I had some fun, got to listen to some old records and learned a few things in the process, so mission accomplished!

Funny how the very things we used to hate about records are now pluses: Not a bug, a feature. ::)

This is class, sounds like something you'd find on a mixtape from 1994 you've just found under the bed!  Love it!

Right, nice observation! I'm glad they're sticking around, and love digging through my crates and listening to vinyl, even though I listen to most music to digitally these days. Just read how the resurgence in vinyl popularity is leading some lower quality records though, so people are losing some of the sound they wanted in the first place. Or may that's the new "feature" wink

Thanks! Love this comment so much! I know what you mean. I was graduating high school in 94 and was pretty early days of my hip-hop explorations (mostly punk rock then), but by the later 90's, I was loving these type sounds on mix tapes / CD's for sure.

really diggin it! (although i think there's a policy against using samples)

Powerful exciting work!

Thanks, glad you dig it. I think my sample use falls under fair use. They are all chopped and altered greatly.

yeah after i typed that i remembered if it is chopped into shorter samples and rearranged then it is fair use. this site VERY paranoid about sample usage back when it began in 2012.
