Chilled Goods

Down to the wire. Just playing around this week in last minute push to get something out in time. Started on Friday to try and make something from more of the live jam recording sessions I used for the past two week's tracks, but after getting frustrated with that I scrapped it late Saturday and started jamming on the Push and came out with this. The song I was trying to create was twice the tempo of this (roughly), so I kept that BPM but started doing everything as half-time. I like the marimba and melodic percussive delayed synth sounds I had from last week so brought those back. The vocal snips are from an FM radio tuner sample and the pads are from the Afro DJ Mac rhythmic pads Ableton instrument pack that's pretty great like most of his stuff. Finished up an edit and arrangement of my Saturday jam at the last minute on Sunday right before deadline. Very thankful that Weekly Beats has helped me improve skillset enough to get something I kind of like done in much shorter time than I used to be able to do!

The main motif is pretty catchy and there are some really interesting sounds scattered in here.  I'm not sure what the sound is towards the end that sounds like either distortion or some kind of percussion like a shaker or something.  Either way it's cool.

These Goods taste really good. A perfect song to start the week with. Vielen Dank

Really like that "scurry/rest" feeling. Nice layering!

Thanks! Kind of happy accident that was, something to add to the toolkit of ideas I'd say.

Thanks a lot, appreciate that. Sound is probably another happy accident from some knob twiddling.
