Brass Caps

Feeling inspired by a few sunny days this week, and starting to get outside and run. I find I exercise best with some good banging house in the headphones. So this week I wanted to attempt a bit of banger to get down and move with. I had a version of an old song lying around that we recently tracked some guitar on. I was eager to dig into it and get some of the guitar mixed in. While I was at it, added different drums, some new leads, new arrangements, FX and a bunch of other tweaks. Wanted to get some bigger low end, and a punchy kick, and pretty happy with how that came out. Probably still a few tweaks to make, but this may make the old running playlist after all.

The "oh" and "take me to there" vocal samples you're using throughout here give a lot of extra energy. When they cut out during the horn section I was just like ANTICIPATION! for them to return.

I could see this being great dance music as well.  It has a wonderful funky vibe, which you always seem to excel at.  Those horn breakdowns are sweet.

Hot damn my dude! This track rivals Yuu Miyake's work on the original Katamari Damacy in terms of creativity and funkiness! It is pure pleasure! A bit of a banger, I'd say it is THE banger! I'm in awe honestly heart heart heart

Horn stabs are classic! Guitar tracks also came out really well.  I like how everything changes up in middle.  This is all over the place and back! Great samples and percussion.  So good, maybe I'll go for a run. Maybe.

I’m no runner, but this definitely gets you moving, love the horns on this and all the “prince” like squelches.  I also now wish I still had my original Ps2 with Katamari, that game was something else.

Hot dang I love those horns. That's really something. There's a whole lot happening in this song and it's working for me! Not a whole lot left to do here

super fun

That slapping bassline is great, it has so much energy. The brass melody is so good! This is great heart

Nice groovy funk in this disco.

Super catchy bassline but the brass completes the funkiness!  Oh yais!

Great point, yeah I agree. That's great feedback, thanks for listening. It would be fun to play with remix and do different things with the those voice sounds too. I thought about a deeper mix with no horns.

Thanks very much, appreciate hearing the funk is working, and not like fake and stuff wink Definitely thinking about dancing with this one. On the bucket list to make a track that people dance to.

Woohoo, that's awesome! Glad you dug it, thanks for listening and great comment. Happy to have pulled off THE banger! I was not familliar with Miyake, but I am now!

Thanks! Wondering if too all over the place, really lol. Horns are samples from converse rubber tracks project, not sure if thats still online anymore but had great stuff. Glad you thought the guitar worked out. Kinda rushed a bit to dig through his tracks and find stuff to drop in.

Thanks! Inspiring some happy movement was the goal! Prince like, as the Prince? Awesome! I never new that game, but super curious now.

Yais! thanks mucho! I liked the bass, but worried it was to0 busy. Brass seems to have good way of completing the funkiness sometimes. Viva la brass I say. glad you liked!

WOW, this has a great funky groove. Fat instrumentation. Everything makes sense. Very very good party. Thanks

Very nice groove. Digging the brass. Your production is really tightening up, my dude.

Yeah funky! That Guitar is so good! very driving with that bass and the brass section is pure fun smile

Thanks! appreciate that, getting a little better at producing every year is certainly the goal! I heard some brass this week and thought, damn, time to dig up some brass. Wish I had horn section to jam with, like back in high school jazz band days!
