Biscotti in the Oven

By miraclemiles on December 18, 2022 11:53 pm

Some sounds to bake holiday goodies to. All sounds here from a jam last weekend with Creatures Once bandmate and WB contributor Monstrosus. I think we snacked on a sugar cookie. We're both drummers as a first instrument so we always have fun with the drums. Arrangement kind of follows how the jam played out, with M going off on the e-drums to cap things off.

Today as I edit this there is indeed some crunchy biscotti in the oven. I intend to make a hot cuppa and then dunk that very biscotti in the hot liquid, then go walk in the snow. What a wonderful season. The other highlight of today: watching the exciting world cup final match. Not always that into the old soccer/football, but this cup has been fun to watch with family. Too bad about all the negative aspects about the host country.
Anyhoo, happy holiday, winter, mysterious introspective season. This week I will listen and comment on all the wonderful weekly beats! Another week down. Hard to believe there's only two more left!

Created a drum/percussion only arrangement of this for Disquiet Junto 0572 this week. First part of a new collaborative project.

A Dall-E 2 image that could be us jamming, while our little cookie friends play soccer ...

These tablas!!! I love the liquid bass drum of Indian percussion. The groove is strong in this track, it is laid back but uncompromising, moving forward with a relaxed confidence. That bass line from 0:44, with the synth line behind,  reminds me a little of Gorillaz. The second half if a nice festival of percussions!

a nice percussive and groovy cacophony. wish you the best for the holydays.

I agree, tablas sounds amazing! I recently saw a master player, I was blown away. Glad you like the groove! I did drums/perc only version, sped up a bit, for the Disquiet Junto, linked it above, I think it grooves even better a little faster, with just the drums and percs. Nice, appreciate the Gorillaz reference. I love them, and when I listen to them I'm always like dang, this feels like some jam I'd do! Monstrosus going off on the drums in that last section, had to keep that in there ride out on a huge groove

The groovy cacophony bringing in the winter months! Thanks for listening. Wishing you the best for holidays too, enjoy!

Really feeling the vibe on this one, instantly drew me in with the tablas to start and really cool synth sounds washing over everything in the first half (almost sound a bit like a harmonium, I think my mother-in-law has one in her basement, I should go dig that thing out).  One of the best parts of this time of year is all the baking and enjoying it outdoors.

Thank you! Glad you like the tabla! Yes, it may be harmonium sounds, it's like a drone that's seems to always be with the the sitar in Indian classical. Would be awesome if you found one and sampled smile
Hope your holiday is good, and you enjoy some yummy baked goods and the outdoors!

Exotic beats... like a drum circle! Love the backwards sounding wails! Cool percussion all around.  Happy Holidays!

This is a percussion delight.  Tablas always sounds awesome but all the other percussive sounds are great, too.

Ahhh, I want to go cuddle with this snowy fuzzball. I wonder if they cuddle with humans? Thanks for listening!

Thanks! Glad the percussion delighted. We're both drummers as our first instruments so the drums are always a high point in our jams. Makes me think we should release just some drum tracks or something smile

Really cool groove going on.  Tribal like but with some cool psychedelic solo leads as well.  Nice drum break in the middle too.  What a journey!

Thank for coming on the journey! I think some tribal psychedelia is in on deck for creatures once future!
