Big Data Grits

Hey, Weekly Beats is back! I'm excited to be back for another year. I can't wait to hear everyone's tunes!
This little tune is an edit from live recording of a jam from last week with my project Cyber Forest. That group also includes fellow Weekly Beat friend License who did the electronic drums on the Analog Rytm, and dialed in a tastt Circuit Monostation patch used for this main melody. I took the looong recording and did some slice and dice and whatnot in Ableton. Then I decided to play some live drums on it since A: I was feeling inspired to do so and B: Playing live drums with sticks on heads is a theme for this year. Another theme is more jamming with friends and turning the backlog of live jam recordings into songs to share. I'm sure I'll think of some other themes, and/or abandon all themes on a whim, but it feels good to start with a couple ideas. Title of this comes from words I think I heard in our vocal ramblings. I think the idea of combining a versatile Southern US food staple with big data though. The possibilities seem both endless and scary.
