Bansangelo

I think thats a made up word. I hope it doesn't mean anything offensive in another language. I started this with the flute, which is called Bansuri, from a pack of Indian samples. Then my friend Angelo wanted a beat, so mixed those words because it sounded cool enough. Guitars by AM Faulks. Drums are two recently discovered kits in Ableton, not sure what pack they came with ... called Peace and Bonzo (which has some of the vocal samples). Added some more synths this week, improvised a few quick melodies, then put down some vocals this morning through Kaoss pad. Feeling a little chaotic this week, gotta slow things down a little. Hope you all are well and creating still. Looking forward to catching up more this week. Cheers!

It has a tripped out world music funk vibe.  Lots of cool sounds to wrap my brain around.  Awesome stuff.

High end is sounding clean. I love that wonky guitar chord. Pentatonic stuff from the middle on is nice too, gets a slight afrobeat vibe going. I felt like throughout it there was maybe 1 extraneous layer that made the rhythm a little less solid than it would've been without it. Overall this was really enjoyable, makes me think of a heist movie, after they pull it off but they're still feeling paranoid about getting caught and looking over their shoulders.

hip hop from the future!!!!! Awesome stuff.

You Bansangelo'd the shit out of it! Yeahhhh... Trip Hop? Is that what the kids are calling it? If the Gorillaz dude did some experimental instrumental stufff... this is it smile Niiiice

RAW RAW RAW RAW RAW

Super dirty groove. Sounds like Beasties! like real good Beasties vibe!! Sick wha guitar and vox.  Bansangelo is the future city state where Los Angeles and Bay Area merge and and are an independent territory of Chinasiaco.

Serious head nod beat, as always love the improvisational / loose feel of your tracks, vocals are awesome

Super nice flow.

Boi ʙᴏɪ ᵦₒᵢ ᵇᵒᶦ! You make such cool things happen with voice and samples, excellent perc work also, digging those metallic crisp clanks, sounds like someone drumming on a chain-link fence. There's so much awesome creativity at work here it's a real pleasure to re-listen and pick out more details big_smile

Thanks, great stuff here! Was not thinking Afrobeat, but I listen to it, maybe it comes out, I'm happy with that! I gotta go listen to the rhythm, I know what you mean, I layer them up and it can get out there. I like that heist movie idea, I could totally hear that. Funny, my daughter keeps asking to watch more heist movies, love them.

Yes, yes! The future still knows a good groove! Thanks very much!

Ha, this made me smile. Love me some Gorillaz, I could see that. The kids might be calling it Trip Hop, I can't keep track any more. I'll have to remember to use that as a Soundcloud tag though, we'll see what the kids say wink. And I sure hope I can use Bansangelo as verb like you did, and maybe Bansangelo the shit out another track soon!

Ha, great  comment. Yeah this is from that future city state  for sure, hey that could happen. I like a dirty groove now and again, and I love me some Beasties, so thanks very much for that awesome reference!

Thank you so much, from a fellow maker of some great head nodding beats, I appreciate the comment very much. Yeah, I think I end up with the improvised loose feel a lot, time to embrace, and maybe I'll have to embrace the vox more now too.

Thanks so much, really appreciate this! While the clangs weren't a sample I recorded,  I do like drumming on chain link fences ... well drumming on anything actually. Glad the fruits of the creative labors were well received. Cool text ... thanks ᵦₒᵢ ᵇᵒᶦ!
