B Mo Betta

So my birthday is tomorrow, and I started out this week in kind of post weekend haze fantasy of writing some meaningful, uplifting and contemplative lyrics about reaching a milestone in life and trying to record them in some way. Well that didn't really pan out, decided to make some music first. Started jamming on the Push kind of randomly, made a bunch of drum parts, some of the synth stuff (using some of the cool sounds from the Afro DJ Mack Pocket Operators sample pack). I realized it reminded me of an old track, my first track I ever really made actually, from about one year ago. I dug that up, it was slower, but also a happy feel in the happy key of C major. I grabbed the guitar parts from that and dropped in here, which became a part. So once again, I had two different things that could be/should be two tracks and due to weekly beats deadline, they became one. Kept some little snips of my various attempts at vocals, then found a sample I had downloaded from the Rubber Tracks free (and legal) sample sample library (https://www.conversesamplelibrary.com/), vox from Carey Clayton from the "Ethereal Guitar and Vocals" session/pack. Chopped it and tapped some bits out, and with that "I will be ..." and my odd little "Mo Betta" ramblings there was some semblance of cohesion (in my mind at least). Ah Weekly Beats, challenging and forcing us to do things we might not otherwise do. Might not be perfect, but I found a few things I like, had some fun, smiled a bit and once again I'm happy to have done it!
