Abstract Colors

A little jam this Tuesday while I was in a good mood. Vocals, chords, bass, drums etc. all improvised, first idea, first take. Arranged, edited and chopped the longer vocal clips down throughout the week and had to toss out some Kaoss pad noisy stuff I liked but didn't fit.

Starting a song when in a good mood is fun. When you go back to edit that song and you're in a kind of normal or not good mood, they can kind of make you gag a little. And then you don't want to edit them. But you want to create a song this week so you do it anyway. Then you kind of start enjoying it. You listen to it on a day when you're in a normal mood and you kind of smile a little. Then maybe you go see your city symphony play the music of Star Wars and in case you needed reminding, you have a lot to learn about music, about life, about all the things.

Some notes
First and last section: Main chords and melody on Ableton's Tension, Clav4 preset, and Electric, Old School Roads. Bass: Operator, Boffner preset (my go to), and AfroDJMac's Haze pack. Drums: Elphnt Erth kit, he built entirely in the Operator synth, and AfroDJMac's Noverture Smash kit.
Vocals: improvised into Kaoss Pad, recorded into Live. The chopped baby sounds are some my vocals, sliced, pitched up and randomly played. (That's the only time its ok to say chopped baby.)
The departure rando middle section (I love doing those) - Pocket Operators: PO12 drums and PO35 Speak vocals, some clips sliced and chopped after recording into Live.

Appreciate all feedback and input, thanks for listening another week!

Lovely work man! Really impressed you got such a catchy melody and rhythm on the first take, I usually have to spend aages trying to craft even a half decent melody. Great stuff heart

The meow-bass patch is a little cartoonish for me but I love everything else about this, especially the vocals and the melodies. End was cool too, slightly mysterious without being a non-sequitur.  Great work, man.

CHOPPED BABY.

Nice... i feel your good mood!

yeah good mood now here too smile

The good mood is infectious.  This is some happy sounding music, which is nice.  Definitely could walk down the street listening to this with a little skip in my step.

This is going on my playlist. Nice job!

Thanks, I appreciate that! Yeah, sometimes get lucky, and sometimes (most of the time actually) its a long struggle. Maybe it helped I was in a good mood smile, glad you liked!

hahaha, that made me chuckle. You said chopped baby again! Now it's a thing! Appreciate the input as always. Not sure what "meow" bass is? But yeah I could see cartoonish in the bass patches I used. Glad you liked the vox and melodies. Still self conscious about vox, love input, lol. Mysterious without being non-sequiter, that's awesome - can I use that as description of my music? I view that voice in the end as a return of the "character" introduced in the middle. The drunk guy kind of sound .. he's baaack. And he's hungry for CHOPPED BABIES!

Well, alright, it puts me in good mood again when music puts others in good mood.

Sweet, thanks -  Like a good mood virus, awesome. Had no idea I'd help create a little mood bug to go around - was worried it would be a bit to cheesy actually. I like the thought of walking with a skip in your step. Songs for walking down the street are always needed!
