M8 tracker only. A sleepy drum n bass jam written in 7/4. This week's track serves as the outline for this month's Sim Selections entry over on the Benn Jordan discord monthly challenge. I really like how this one turned out, especially the textures from the pad made from a reversed piano chord. Will get fleshed out by the end of the month for the final submission.

so groovy, feels like this could be part of an alternative Risk of Rain soundtrack

Sounds great, amazing sound design - love that PWM lead and the bass. Pretty cool that it's in 7/4, super groovy.

nice and chill yet some fun find-the-downbeat calisthenics in this one.  the sparse bassline flourishes are a nice touch too, they propel the tune with a burst at the right time just before you notice their absence.

Do you know why the challenge is called "Sim Selections"?

As for the track, the lead is very interesting. 7/4 works pretty naturally here. My only complaint is that 2:20 is false advertising for an artist called mikey 3:03 big_smile

The server has a lot recurring topics about simulations and Benn even has an album containing Simulacra, so it's likely just a thematic thing!

nice one!

Nice! Definitely game music vibes. Would play the game for sure!

love the reverse pad! enjoyed this track overall.

loving that reversed piano chord and squeaky fizzy lead.

look forward to hearing where you end up with the final version!
