Raise up the valleys and lay the mountains low. Let nothing stand in the way when God comes to rescue his people. Isaiah spoke of a highway for God (Isaiah 40:3-4) and a highway for the redeemed to return home (Isaiah 35:8-10). I can’t say why I remembered this beautiful image this week. I can’t say where this melody came from on Friday night. And I can’t say why everything I had begun writing about this week no longer seemed relevant when I sat down to play the new melody on Saturday. All I can say is that this melody felt like home, not my home on earth, but home with Jesus. It feels crazy to upload a song that didn’t exist only two days ago. I’m not used to working at this kind of pace. Maybe it’s undercooked, but I like it.

Gotta keep moving on
I’m heading for home
A house built by Jesus
Is where I belong
Joy awaits me
I will dance with the saints
Don’t hold me back
I am heading for home

Mountains bow, all you valleys rise up
Make a highway, the redeemed are returning
I will sing as I’m running
For the joy that awaits
No turning back
This world is not my home

On the highway of God
There’s no room for sin
My eyes like to wander
But I won’t give in
Eyes on Jesus
He will show me the way
Don’t hold me back
I am heading for home

Mountains bow…
