Last Day of Summer

By mechlo on February 28, 2016 8:40 pm

Last day of summer. You have a seemingly infinite number of possibilities to fill your day. However, none of them seem to be a worthy choice before you're burdened with the weight of responsibility again. It was too short, you wanted to do too much, the days are getting noticeably shorter and you dash into the day with a fervor and melancholy. You can count the remaining summers left in your life on one hand. Let's make them count.

MidiNES + Octatrack

I sequenced the NES with the Octa with 2 pairs of 4 channels to switch between. The NES then goes into the Octa for mixing and effects. It's a beautiful pairing that I'm going to stick with. This is the first of several tracks I'll be writing to perform live on March 28th.

Love that heavy bass, evokes that melancholic mood. And use of chiptune itself conveys nostalgia. Wonderful.

OH hell yeah MIDINES WARRIORS REPRESENT.

Crap your MIDINES sounds way more rockin' than mine.  I think you are going to become an Octatrack powerhouse.  So none of the sounds came from the OT, you just used it for mixing/sequencing/effects?  Looking forward to future tracks with OT sounds mixed in as well!

OMG I KNOW YOU.

This whole time I thought you were "awesomely supportive random internet guy" - my face when I saw your name on your soundcloud page:

I've been found out! Sorry, I tend to forget that not everyone I know equates me with my project name.

To be fair to a lot of people on here I am "awesomely supportive random internet guy". I just happen to have met you in the fleshspace and seen you perform. big_smile

Forgot to mention I added a sub kick and clap but everything else is NES.
