Unforeseen

Slightly short on time this week, so I took a turn into leftfield with this slightly Satie-like piano improvisation. I went to see Clint Mansell in concert last night, so that's an obvious influence here I reckon.

There's a fair bit of tech going on under the hood here - this was all running off the iPad; the piano is from Korg's Module app, being layered and processed by Loopy HD with additional reverb from Aufx:Space. The whole thing was then mixed and recorded in AUM Mixer and Audioshare. I guess this is a testament to how mature the mobile music environment has become in a few short year; it wasn't so long ago that making music with portables basically meant LSDJ or Nanoloop. This was great fun, and the workflow was super-smooth and creative too.

Really nice piece. Very evocative. It feels conciously minimal, but not "looped" .. A couple of years ago some considered Loopy a toy, but nowdays some mobile apps are clearly unique and create a really interesting enviroment. This track gives me another strong reason to learn the Audiobus workflow once and for all smile

Curious about what you could do with Samplr.

I envy you since you had the chance to watch Clint Mansell live. One of my favourite composers, he was in Spain last year but I missed him due to work.

Really beautiful work!  It sounds very natural (agreed with laguna!) and I never would have guessed at the work flow. Well done!
