For the last couple of years, Actress has been my absolute favourite recording artist. I'm continually fascinated by how he makes music with such an austere beauty out of such lo-fi, noisy ingredients. With the release of his superb RIP album this week, I thought I'd see if I could apply some of his production techniques to my own music - the result basically being that I know a lot more about compression this week than I did previously. All done in Renoise, where I set up the loops and then jammed the automation in a single take.
