Wading Into The Sunset

By Martiln on September 15, 2024 3:21 pm

Another ambient track in ~10 minutes (more like 15 this time but I wanted to add automation lol).

All the main ambience is my voice processed and sampled and reverbed, then I added a drum loop. I kinda like it actually, I hope you do too. smile

These quick ambient sketches are fun to hear.  Neat to hear about your production process too!

Curious about any tips you’ve got for getting a good workflow together with a ten-minute turnaround. What do you find has helped you the most?

Thanks! Really glad you like them. smile

First tip would be to stick to 1-minute length for the track, longer than that and it's too hard to manage.

Second is, don't overthink it, just do the first thing that comes to your mind, and don't take anything back.

Last thing I'd say is having a clear idea of at least what kind of thing you want to make is really useful, and keep it simple. Trying to make something beyond an ambient thingo like this in 10 minutes would be absolutely stressful and basically impossible, but I know that doing something like this is simple and achievable enough for me to do.

I hope that was useful! big_smile
