Miyamoto Musashi

Spoken word / double bass piece. The words are taken 'The Book of 5 Rings'

Felt like paying some homage to an amazing man called Miyamoto Musashi (1584 - 1645). A Japanese swordsman who was renounced for his skills in combat and just about everything he did. His enduring work 'The Book Of 5 Rings' is one of the best books I have read and has provided much inspiration for my artistic endeavours.

Once again, I'm in awe of your skills on the bull fiddle. Not sure if the voice adds anything, though.

I actually enjoyed the spoken word element.  Great piece.  The composition is minimal yet highly effective.  Very cool!

I do enjoy the atmosphere you've painted here. Is that cello.. or everything just bass? Very nice.

Although I have worked with spoken word music, I don't think I can pull it off too well! All in the learning curve.

Cheers! I got away with only 4 layers here all done in 1 take each. All improvised after the words were recorded and arranged.

All double bass here. I've not touched a cello in my entire life. #noregrets
Thanks smile

Cool mix, I like the way you integrated/filtered the voice.
