Parting

Oh snap, my first fully written guitar, bass, drums, vox song! Wanted to just try and make a metal song about a guy who keeps his love chained up after she's bitten by a zombie. I had a blast recording everything and had a few speed bumps but I dig how it came out. My awesome wife helped me out with the lyrics since I'm a idiot in that department. Enjoy!

Lyrics

Bound to me, but I lay
Out of reach, here I stay
I cant leave you, can't let you go
You've always had my heart,
twin flames aglow

I'm haunted by that dead look in your eyes
The way they used to shine kept me alive
I need you by my side, Oh how could I survive?
Oh, how I need you
even like this I must see you
I have no choice I must chain you...
I can't change our circumstance
You left this world

The bite penetrating
The blood you were shedding
tainted by the undead

Call me deranged
but your deadly kiss I crave
I'll draw ever so near
Your eyes flash
and there is nothing to fear
Do whatever you lust
Take your hand in mine
together eating brains in eternity divine

Lol god damn, those are some proper doom metal growls. Nice and deep! Your wife (feels weird not saying her name, just respecting the anonymity haha) did a great job with the lyrics too, so give her my compliments! The riffing and overall structure is great too. I'm not sure *what* it reminds me of specifically, maybe it's a black metal band like Mayhem or Burzum or something like that? They usually do higher register music though so this is like a doomy version of that kind of thing. My favorite riff is the 2 minute mark and onward, especially when it goes double time at 2:32. Excellent job this week man!

I second viridian, great growls! The dark vibe works perfectly and the production takes me back to good old black/death early days. The theme reminds me of the movie Della More Della Morte (The Cemetery Man is another title I think).

Proper black/death metal stuff! Nice one

Awesome nostalgic feel on this one, takes me back to small venues and just brawling in the pit. Great stuff!

love all this! favorited! i wish i could hear the drums more!

Wow! Those growls sound great! Reminds me of the really deep growls on Amorphis' Tales from the Thousand Lakes album, which has always been a favorite of mine. I really like the guitar tone as well. It's got a great low end thump and some nice fizz on top. The blast beats at the end are great. The horror zombie theme is also very classic death metal! Nice job!

Thanks man! I actually didn't like that part at the 2 minute mark but my wife talked me into keeping it in so I'm glad she did!

Thanks! I made a better mix of it on youtube where everything is a bit more clear.
