Walk this way and back

By LOHTANGCLAN on April 15, 2022 1:18 pm

Created on the M8 - Used a few Blankfor.ms samples and a certain drum break (the clue is in the title heh).
I was experimenting with making some FM sounds a few rows below the inital composition, combined with a semi-random bass line (lots of table-hopping and a strangely tuned scale) then wondered if I could transition between the two, using the live-play mode.
This sort of ties back to what I think is my main goal for the time being, having more variation within my work and learning to transition the parts.
Did a little bit of tweaking in ableton and added a very subtle layer of Bitspeek.

love the ultra slow down on the drums

The distortion / fuzz / fullness of this is incredible -- excellent FM sound design & lovely dust all over this, remarkably delicious sound!

The way it develops, kind of found this to be music _about_ music (records / sound / medium / tape). From the 4th minute on, the FM grr lead did not seem bizarre, even though it's a strange sound and I really admire how well it works in this. Really like the kinda "bridge" section around 5:40-ish.
