Liven Bass & Beats doodle

By LOHTANGCLAN on April 10, 2022 9:59 am

In my quest to make tracks with more parts/patterns I made this on the Sonicware Liven Bass & Beats & recorded a play-through, with plenty of performance-button presses (stuttering/retrigging drums that sort of thing). Pretty happy with that little box, I wasn't sure how I'd use it overall, but it seems to be quite usable especially in a live-performance sense. In using it I also realised how unnecessary "Song Mode" is for me.
Added a bit of punch and dirt/saturation in Ableton. No Bitspeek this week T_T
Could do with more variation in bringing up and down energy/pacing, it is a bit relentless. Will definitely be going back to this box to make more noises..

lol.. think I've submitted an overly drum boosted/saturated version by accident.

love it! hevy duty

This has an improvisational hardcore jam feel! I'd be curious to peep the less-boosted version--I think the boosting shifts all energies in the track into a "heavy / harsh" tone, and in this case this distracts from the variety I hear in the bass line layering. And I like the variation a lot in this. If you got a "soft mix" hmu w/ a sc link or some such.

still pretty cool really. It was jarring to come into instantly but otherwise it felt fine to me

Great track! Jarring indeed, it jumped at me out of nowhere after a soothing track had ended.

Thanks everybody!

I think the youtube version I did was way less harsh & overly boosted. But then.....it loses a bit of its GRRRR haha. I need to test my tracks on more speakers heh.
