dun-dun, dun-dun-dun

Managed to get an early start this week. I built this track on the OP-Z, using some custom samples on all tracks. Some from Samples From Mars and some that I made myself using Ableton's stock instruments. I did have a more varied percussion at first, but found the repetitive mechanical nature of it quite hypnotic in a way.
I recorded both audio & midi into Ableton & then layered a few extra instruments (kinda similar to what I already had on the OP-Z) on top of the OP-Z's audio to make it feel a bit "fuller". I guess it's a bit like multi-track recording?
I wish the OP-Z could output stems, as the mix is a bit weird...the percussion is definitely a bit too dominating. Oh well!

Outcanadas Boards of Canada right off the board!

Inspiring work -- would have never ever guessed op-z for this. I can listen to noisy haze of tape drones forever heart

Great hazy atmosphere. Really liking that electric piano part and those chords over the gritty loop. Great stuff!

Inspiring to try random samples for rhythms , nice work fav

@ilzxc thanks!! I love the Boards! btw you might find this tool useful - https://github.com/BKLronin/underbridge
it spits out stems (it does so methodically for each track, sadly not for live performance)

Cheers everyone! I try to do a variety of sounds, but the haze & crunch/dirt/grit keeps pulling me back smile
