My Neighbour Is A Serial Killer (Now With 100% Cowbell)

By little-scale on January 29, 2012 7:17 pm

"The great thing about living next door to a serial killer is that they rarely shit where they eat." - G.A.

This is part of a recovered soundtrack* to a non-existent medium-budget suburban horror film set in the summer of 1976 / 1977. Made with only 100% real cowbell. Bonus cowbell supplied by Iran. Needs more moustache, though.

* this is a lie

im having a hard time believing this is 100% cowbell, but its really nice and atmospheric. if it is indeed 100% cowbell, this is a SUPER impressive piece of sampling/mixing/producing. either way, well done :-D

I can post the data files and audio source material if you would like. Glad you liked it.

haha i believe you ^^ but i would like to hear the source sounds just for my own edification if youre willing to post

Excellent.  Meta cowbell ftw.

Tres cool.  The bottom end works exceptionally well for it's source.  The change in direction was unexpected too.

so so good.

I would really like to know how you got these sounds out of a cowbell

Spry: You can trust him, he's a doctor.

Very cool. This might be my favorite track of yours in recent memory.

No way... Seriously, cowbells?

It would indeed make an excellent soundtrack smile

...I particularly like the middle third.

1'53" - 4'00" (yes, it's a bit more than one third).

Poppi: Oh, thanks!

Waiting on that post ;-)  Really nice percussion here - and the lead sounds awesome.  Oh, and changes / movements x2?!!  x3  This is my fav track yet for sho.

To those wondering about the exact nature of the cowbells... I had a cowbell array and a bonus cowbell.

This track is sick!
With which soft did you work?
You HAVE TO Make a tutorial! lol

Ableton, in this case with the Simpler and Impulse instruments - and then the built in Ableton plugins and a few Waves plugins for mastering.
