Kinda think the beat needs to be sparser and louder on this. Consider more asymmetry, I think, just way more unbalanced everything in light of that single-note arpeggio bassline. Really like your pads here, very nicely shimmering sounds, remarkable.

good call, I thought something was really off about the mix but I couldn't put my finger on it. yeah symmetry-wise, it is definitely a wall o' stuff, this would be a good thing to keep in mind for the next rodeo. thank you for your kind words on the pads.
I wanna do sultry dances in the sand. Love that kind of breathy hiss sample, a voice? Bassline gets into the body, kick hits, there's some mystery being alluded to. Fun with the digitakt, sweet!
Just a thought, but maybe do something weird with the kicks on this one- like a very strange sounding kick that is still a kick but a unique sound.

oh it was a bunch of noise samples I think. sultry sand dances sound lovely!

oh yeah that sounds way cooler than what I did. so far my digitakt kicks are total crap, I don't know what it is but I can't find my kick legs on this machine. I think I just need to sample some 0-coast into it or something.
