Technical comment first: the way the groove emerges in this is awesome and I love it; the ska-like up-beats w/ those idm pads is kinda genius, completely shifts the whole thing to be heard more like The Specials' "Ghost Town" rather than Autechre's Quaristice-type vibes. Lovely.

Now for the comment that matters: the write-up above the play button cuts deep and resonates hard, HMU on Discord if you need an ear or a supportive opinion. heart Take care of yourself.

wow, thank you. I feel heard on multiple levels heart heart heart

Quaristice was my favorite record (as in number one favorite, listen on repeat for days on end) for many years, but I'm embarrassed to say I had to look up "Ghost Town" (although I recognized the organ and vocals immediately!). my 80s dub and reggae vocabulary is limited but the more I listen to it the more it feels like going back to a home I didn't know I had. it informs so much of what I love.

I will definitely hit you up & we can share m8/"anxiety" tips. take care of yourself too. much love.

Do I hear reggae music? I am not sure. But everthing sounds great.

EXACTLY MY LIFE STORY!

It seriously took over my life.  I'd listen to the album, quadrange EPs, and then blew over $100 to get the metal-encased special edition with the (Versions) album.  Definitely listened to the hour long Perlence Subrange 6-36 more than 4 times.

WOW!

So nice to meet someone who had that experience, this is my first time "knowing" someone who did that very exact thing.

wowowow yes so nice to meet a fellow Quaristice spelunker heart heart heart and OMG YOU GOT THE METAL ONE!!! amazing, nice work, that thing is so gorgeous! (I spaced on it - I think I was working when it went on sale and it sold out in like 20 minutes, right!?)

yeah Quaristice is deeply, deeply etched in my subconscious. I bought a Monomachine basically just because of that album and like 90% of my 2016 WB submissions were all Monomachine smile

I still get goosebumps every time I listen to chenc9. ahhh I need to go listen to it RIGHT NOW.
