Hi, I hope you had a good 2023!

This arrangement is pretty meh. The output might be too quiet too; I wrapped it up too close to the deadline. I mostly just liked the bass patch, although I made the pads and drum kit first. I didn't do a lot of focused music making last year, so it'll probably take some time for me to get my sea legs again. The whistling delay noises are from a SC jam last year.

what's up count?  i can feel you spinning into 2024 trying to find yer sea legs
what's the amaro for the new year?
made limoncello for holiday gifts this year - it was just ok...
the organic lemon options in indiana in winter are what they are smile

dope heart

ur not the only one who likes the bass patch!!!!!!!  i dig the sparseness of the groove combined with the brassy pads that swim in and out of the groove

love the intro. massive vibes on this track. heart

The synthwavey bass is indeed a highligh but the entire track's got a good vibe. Not a bad way to start the year!

Feeling the Com Truise vibe here for sure. Nice bass synth.

Happy New Year! I like the vibe of where this track is going! Thanks for sharing!

The beat during the second half had me double-checking the time sig cool

Also that bass patch contains the soul of a decade tongue

hey hey! Some juicey texture in the that intro, I like. Yeah cool old school bass, nice distant pads under there with nice verb. A touch o funk in this biz. Get it.

A very good start with this dubby madness. Congratulations

Cool tune. Love that riff that comes in around 1:53. Super nice bass patch.

Really digging this one.

Happy 2024! I like that bass tone! It's a nice beat as well going with it. Looking forward to more tracks this year!

this IS a great bass patch

beautiful bass, agree on the 1:50ish change, really nice

that synth bass! so good.

super nice, the bass cuts so cleanly with those drums, love the vibe

oh yep, this one so smooth, sounds great through my cans.

sick dub!

Happy New Year everybody! Thank you for listening and for so many kind words!

I tried to find a place to upload the bass patch to share, but the site I found wasn't letting me because it didn't like the extension (I made it in Ableton's Wavetable synth). If anyone can suggest a site, I'll put it there!

The sound at 1:50ish is from the free Lode M4L device by Fors (a.k.a. Ess, who also made the original Model:Cycles engine). I wanted to automate the parameters to make it more acid-y but I couldn't figure out how to. Glad it turned out OK regardless!

Sadly, it's been a while since I had an amaro! Drinking mostly coffee, chai, and water with lime these days. I had this tasty peach rooibos for a while but I ran out of it sad
Yeah lemon is a tricky one! I've had decent luck mixing up the citrus (lime, grapefruit, yuzu) when I can't find a good lemon. There's these little packets of citrus powder I've found on Amazon and even grocery stores and they're a lot tastier than that weird lemon juice in the green bottles. It's probably mostly citric acid but it's decent.

Thank you! I sometimes like to chop the bass notes up a bit and it can get treacherous, so I'm glad that worked!

I've been doing some shifty tricks with my patterns lately, it's only a matter of time before I introduce continuity errors :sweat-smile:

Thank you! Yeah I'm glad I found a home for that intro, haha! Verb is Valhalla Supermassive, actually kind of all over the place big_smile Definitely a little aspiration for funk.

Thank you, super cool you heard the original dub in this!

Listened to this again while reading your comment reply, and enjoyed it even more than first time. I hear the dub vibes now. Yeah share that wavetable bass patch if you want. I'd dig it. Could drop it in dropbox or g drive and make public? Or zip it in folder first and do that?

Bass patch is a monster! To me this is 80s pop/rnb realm, closer to Cameo than Com Truise. Fun stuff smile

Oh awesome that the dub is transmitting now! I probably listened to it so much that I took it for granted.

I just threw it up on Github, lmk whether this works: Asahii-Doori bass.adv

Thank you! See just above this quote if you want to download it wink 80s pop/R&B, I love that idea! I can dig Cameo for sure big_smile Thanks for listening!

The bass tone and overall atmosphere on this is awesome. I bet this would sound crazy through some crazy distortion
