I hate writer's block.
Hate it to the woods and back.
But the woods are good.

Eh, c’est la vie. Anyway, happy week 3!

Sitting under a tree in the sunlight watching the wind blow the grass around on the plain below - then a shiver as a cloud passes before the sun - something's not quite right with the world. I actually love your music so much man, it's so good. I always drift away somewhere.

Love how you build up such a rich texture, luscious tune! heart

Ah man, I loved this track about 8 seconds in. Great job! Reminds me a little of Chrono Trigger.

the bell really hit me emotionally

SO perfect

(that was a really good haiku)

Lovely!

Not a block seen, only a opening heard here

Les cloches tubulaires c'est grandiose... Le piano seul est déjà excellent.

Belle pièce qui fait du bien.

That is great haiku! And a lovely song. Swaying. I feel like with this on repeat writers block could go away!

Very nice little tune, love the instrumentation.  The bell hits with the piano chords sounds great.

This is such a nice track.  I love how it slowly builds.

So beautiful. This is the sort of music that makes you wish you had a creative project to hire a composer for!

A mesmerising arp, a hypnotic chord progression, moving and developing towards a satisfying final section. Brought to mind the soundtrack to Death's Door (which was fantastic).

Gorgeous music fit for all kinds of exploration! Lovely stuff

Gorgeous.

Thanks! I struggled forever with adding a melodic part - the bell melody came in just an hour before the deadline. Glad it seemed to work out okay! though I wish I'd blended it a bit better.

Really kind of you to say - it's how I think about your tracks too. Not particularly proud of this one, but getting to read your poetic description makes it worthwhile! big_smile

Thank you so much! Not sure this comes close to Chrono Trigger, but I’m very much a fan so I really appreciate the compliment. heart

Thanks, both for the feedback and the soundtrack recommendation! People have been talking up the game quite a bit, so I'll have to check the music out.

Such a beautiful place heart

I've been stressed the past few weeks and I've just been taking a step back from weeklybeats and not really listening to people's music, which was a total mistake with you because yours would have given me some peace of mind. Calm and relaxing, wish I could bust out tunes like this occasionally. Still using the M1 for this stuff? Curious what patches you used.

Ack, sorry! Hit submit before I got to finish the comment. tongue Anyway, I really appreciate the kind words - especially since I was feeling a bit down about this one once the deadline hit.

As far as VSTs, I mostly used Logic's stock instruments. The exceptions were for the synth bass and mellotron flute (those were Korg Legacy Collection M1 sounds), the string staccato / pizzicato hits (Taylor Davis violin VST from Cinesamples), the piano (CinePiano from Cinesamples), and the choral pad (Voices of War from Cinesamples). Hope that helps!
