amidst the technicolor haze
the tall grass sways, the tall grass sways,
amidst the haze the tall grass sways
and blades refract the rainbow
**
between these technicolor days
the tall grass sways, the tall grass sways,
between these days the tall grass sways
and blades refract the rainbow
**
a circumhorizontal arc, the color of an arctic light
a searing beam of silver rings, a simmering stalactite
**
amidst the haze the tall grass sways
the tall grass sways, the tall grass sways,
between these days the tall grass sways
and blades refract the rainbow

Funny enough, I've been trying to write shorter songs lately, so I'm not sure how this one wound up almost hitting the eight minute mark. Oh well. Hope everyone's having an okay Week 33.

I bet it's the lower tempo, that usually makes songs go on for much longer.

I don't mind though, it's more time to enjoy the song.

I especially enjoyed the nostalgic piano melody.

Thanks! That piano part was how the track started, so I'm glad to hear it worked out okay.

Oh man, that transition into 12/8 was a very welcome surprise.  Big fan of the harmony too.  All of the chord changes are very lovely.

I never commented on this song in 2020, please, forgive me. :'(
I love the primary progression of this song, especially when it ends up at the lone piano near the ending. It has a sense of longing to it. The textures and sounds of this song, in my mind, place it in this space somewhere between Undertale, Phantasy Star, and Hyperlight Drifter. Which is definitely high compliments from me because those games all have excellent atmosphere.
