This track started as another SuperCollider x SimpleSynth hybrid project, but once I settled on the arrangement I wanted, I switched gears.  Instead of recording SimpleSynth's audio into a Logic session, I set up the general midi instruments I wanted in Logic and sent MIDI directly there from SuperCollider.  The process, as far as MIDI traffic is concerned, is basically the same.  So, too, is the output: both SimpleSynth and DLSMusicDevice rely on the same sound bank.  The only notable difference is DLSMusicDevice's capacity for incorporating reverb, which SimpleSynth seems to lack.

I don't know if jrpg cut scene was what you were going for, but I like it.

Beautiful melody and chord arrangement. Beautiful in its simplicity. Never heard of Quicktime Music Synthesizer... have to look that up.  I'm using Logic as well but have not tapped into Quicktime.

This is definitely reminiscent of 16/32-bit era RPGs. It's definitely a little calmer than your track from last week, but it's really nice.

This is great really enjoying the calmness of this track. big_smile

Yes, 3rding the FF7/early PSone jrpgs. Someone is very much telling me their tragic backstory.
