With COVID-19 on the brain 24/7, I've been more than a little anxious this week. Musically, I just needed to work a week's worth of worries out of my system –  hence the comparatively moody output. A certain visual novel mystery series about numbers, pandemics and confinement keeps coming to mind lately. That’s the indirect inspiration for the title and tone of this week’s track.

But things are going to get better once we make it through this thing. I guess positivity and perseverance are the keys to making it through. So take care of yourselves and each other, and thanks for taking the time to exchange tracks and encouragement here each week! Even when the world's adrift, this activity and community are welcomed anchors.

Very nice track, I like the mood with the noisy percussion going on with the uneasy guitar.

This piece is deliciously atmospheric. I love that typewriter-esque percussion, it sounds great with the noisey layering. Yeah, that's a lovely way to put it - it's reassuring to see everyone checking in each week as usual. Rhythm and routine really help keep everything grounded. Have a good week, I hope the anxiety improves heart

I dig the acoustic guitar/ambient vibe going on with this one. I'm definitely feeling the anxiety from this track but it's also soothing, like something to listen to under a desert night sky. This Covid 19 stuff is very scary, but we'll be ok. Stay safe!

Wow! This is awesome, love that glitchy percussion. The melodies remind me a lot of old school Malmen.

The tense percussions is amazing. And love the ambience behind it too

feels like how I feel - oddly calm and tense at the same time.

what's the visual novel you are referring to?

This oozes investigative vn / rpg vibes! Perfectly realized, great job! The samply nature of the sounds also makes it feel like it could have come from like a psx era or thereabouts.

It's so mysterious. Great selection of instruments here.

Neat!  Never heard of Malmen before, but I like what I've been hearing so far.  Thanks for the recommendation!

Thanks so much!  I'm really glad to hear it worked out.

999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors (or its direct sequel, Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward) - mostly for how its main characters don't give up, even in the face of emotionally challenging circumstances.  Shinji Hosoe did some fantastic work on their soundtracks.

Thanks for the encouragement, it means a lot.  This past week's had its ups and downs, but on the whole I'm starting to feel less nervous about things.  (I guess stuff like that tends to come and go in waves.)  Likewise, stay safe!  Hope you're both doing okay too.

Those games have been on my to-do list for ages!  Definitely need to get it.  ...maybe not now smile
