Busy Week

By Leo on February 22, 2026 11:33 pm

Probably not gonna be the last one this year.
Started the week with no plans and barely any time. Friends came to stay for a few days, so I took a recording I made of myself practicing breakbeats and a guitar riff and chopped it up a little while everyone else was already asleep. Sadly I didn't get anything exciting done with the initial idea, and I'm again very sparse on the transistions and ear candy - but it's something, and there's something new in here: first bit of live drum recording I did for Weeklybeats!

Well put together and very calming and grounding sound for a busy week track. The drums sound fantastic to me! Did you sample them or play the track through live or maybe a mix? not sure i can tell, which is good, right? smile

Hey, thanks for listening! It's a mix. I lracticed a 4-bar pattern on drums with some variations, at 130bpm, and put up an iPad in the room to record about 2min of me just playing the break on a loop. Then I picked a clean-ish stretch of that recording and used that as my break sample to speed up, chop up and have fun with.

Awesome work! The great mix of instruments really come togehter nicely. The right mix between comfy and adventurous. Is that 'summer' im feeling? big_smile

Sometimes the moments after you enjoy seeing a good friend are the best. I think that vibe shines into the song, and it sounds whole.
