Tout le temps que je cherche

“All the time I’m looking for” in French. Basically the story of my submissions lately.

Alright, the production process on iPhone continues. Still bringing its own challenges and issues, although I think I start to get the hang of it in terms of production.

Initially thought as a Doobie Brother inspired music, with instrumental, it ended up completely differently with lyrics (in French because that’s my extra challenge this year).

This week was more complicated for music. Moving completely threw off the rails my process and I got lost in writing the guitar parts. On top of that (by mistake!) the verse is in 14 beats, so that gave even more challenge for the drums and the bass line and to finish the chord progression is a nightmare in itself because the minor G#7 proved to shift completely the scale and the soloing wasn’t going to cut it when I had short sessions to figure out the parts (I think I had like 5-6 guitar takes max).

Ended up scribbling some lyrics and just shipping it like that. I think it works well for what it aims to achieve. And I feel very happy with the bass and guitar mix.

NB: no organ pr synth here, but a cavaquinho in C with a chorus that sounds like an organ.

that 14 sounds super natural, maybe because it was melody that started it and not drums/rhythm

cool stuff big_smile

Superbe! Le rythme n'est pas le plus conventionnel mais ça fait pas du tout forcé. Ça groove

Beau travail !
