Pieds nus dans l’herbe

Continuing my iPhone creations.

This time two things I sort of learnt were to listen and transcribe drum parts from the ear into MIDI. The drums here are inspired from May Ninth from Khruangbin.

The guitar follow a loosely jazz pattern and the solo was actually pretty decent from my original idea. While the idea was easy to execute, the mastering was atrocious because of the multiple guitars not in sync. I managed to salvage it with some panning. Anyway, this took me way too long to record over a busy week but I learnt a lot. Not my best submission but it’s okay.

It’s also dedicated to my wife, who loves to take strolls or hike without shoes as soon as we tread in grass (we check for ticks at home for sure…).

Very good mood, what a lovely track! The guitar is just incredible amazing work heart

Lovely song once again. Just listened to it 4 times in a row.

It evokes vivid memories of emotions I had discovering several artists that I love.. I'm thinking Stereolab, Gainsbourg, Marco Valle.. The interplay between drums and acoustics remind me a lot of Opeth too.. Is it possible we have a few influences in common? smile

I have to say you have an amazing sense of melody. The vocals are amazing, the way they bloom and resolve with the main riff going into the hook is absolutely lovely.

Also, I refuse to believe this was recorded with an iPhone, it sounds perfect!

Bravo!

Cool stuff! Very meditative heart
