LEVIATHAN

It's a pop song. That happens to be set in a world that is shaped by the remains of colossal war machinery/ bodies of actual gods that ravaged civilization an unspecified amount of time ago. It's about making contact to outsiders you didn't know existed anymore and exiting your shelter for the first time in generations.
The last couple weeklybeats were a bit of a grind. This one was done on Monday (the instrumental, at least, to about 90%). With that much time left, I wanted to go the extra mile and tried to come up with lyrics. Ended up having some valuable help with the melody today (sunday) and made a quick and dirty recording. The music is, again, 100% M8 - 100% synthesis, even. Really happy with the drums! I even have a spare track!
My vocal performance/recording/mixing is meh, but I had a really busy week* and I'm proud to have committed in the first place.

But that was by choice, since I was drumming a beat like that when jamming with friends the other day. I loved the space it gave to other instruments, but also the fact that the speed kept the other parts simple, focussed on what's most important. Arrangement makes and breaks everything, so I'm happy you liked the breakdown, too.
