LeBangus

This week I decided to channel the one and only Wangus, whose submissions have been inspiring me since I joined this year. In that spirit, I opted to go 100% M8 synthesis.
The Preset library over at Impbox.com/matey was a big help and I got some useful ispiration (or straight up recreated presets) by Ineffable Twaddle, Eridon and ilsxc. A large chunk of time was spent finding the "face" or character of this track, and since the weekend was super busy, the mix is still SUPER rough - the sub bass is ridiculous in places. But I'm overall very happy with this and I'm gonna keep working on it. But for now, weeklybeats gotta weekly.

This is very nice! Really love the glitchy chippy notes in there. Interesting melodic middle 8 contrasts nicely with the kinda chaotic rest of it. Nice, very nice!

I love the quirky sound and triplet bounce beat in this―it reminds me of how fun and head-boppy some early Juno Reactor and Infected mushroom tracks were.  The build-up at 1:21 and especially the few seconds of deep bass 1:50 felt like Everything Was About To Lose. Its. Mind. before snapping back into the second round of quirkstep, both of which were fun touches.  The final form of that groove from 02:09+ feels like a proper lebangus.

Thank you! Gotta break things up for a middle 8. smile

Thank you so much! For your feedback and the compliments, but also for the your presets over on impbox, consider yourself a contributor to this. wink

this sounds really amazing, the groove is really tight and bouncy and there's a lot of pretty cool tones, I love the slithering buzz bass

Thanks! That one also makes me come back to this a lot, it's a preset by ilzxc. Goes to show that sometimes stealing/recreating sounds can be the greatest catalyst for inspiration. smile
