Hit'em Amiss

So this started out as an experiment to make a song in the the meme "genre" Hit'em. Didn't take into consideration that I had no idea whatsoever what this could sound like and just started going. It got away from me a little bit, but not in an entirely bad way I think. There are some fun ideas in this that I might use at some point in the future. I'm just glad I put something together because this week was crazy, doing a week worth of work in 4 days and travelling to play with a band for a long weekend. I like to think these past few weeks are leading up to something I'm gonna make when I can finally commit some more time than 10min here and there. Some time this fall.

The title made me laugh smile

Like the change-ups in feel in this. The rhythm change at :57 made it feel like it dropped into a different time dig - cool stuff. Great sense of space, and fun skittering rhythms.

This is the second “HIT ‘EM” I’ve heard this week. It’s making me want to try it out!

Go for it! I'm not completely unfamiliar to odd signatures, but using them to make something roughly in the realm of rave music was surprisingly challenging. That's why I veered off into this more experimental direction. Thanks for listening!
