Phew, finishing this song was a nightmare. This is the most lyrics I've written for a song but they don't make any sense! I switched to using a condenser mic and it's so much better. My vocals still suck but I feel like I'm making some progress.

lyrics:

in my sight
now we don't know what we're doing
light of the night
my knees are broken

boarded up windows
can't find an exit
a mistake, we shouldn't be
digging through this place

I didn't make this deal
I want to go back
my conscious lost
I want to go back

Another great rocking tune.  Nice stuff!

Dunno if you were looking for feedback on vocal tracking, but if you wanted to tighten up pitch tracking a bit, you could play the vocal melody on a keyboard or something in one channel, and listen to that when you track your vocal. Then throw out the keyboard channel before mixdown. That can be easier than just following the melody in your head while singing.

Thanks. I'd love any feedback.

That's actually exactly what I've been doing. I've even left behind the vocal melody I played on the keyboard because it makes me sound a little more in tune. I've turned the volume down a bit though so maybe not immediately obvious.

I'm hoping I'll get better with my pitch as the year goes on, but we'll see.
