I convinced my room mate to sing on a song but it was really difficult to get a decent recording, and the whole process took a lot more time an anticipated. She did come up with the lyrics though, which is nice. I tried out melodyne for the first time to see how easy it would be to salvage the vocals. It was a learning experience at least, but I'm glad to be done with this thing.
