Objective for this track : Write a structured song with clearly identifiable parts!

My first attempt at using my 3 little synth modules, just using presets for now and the levels are a bit shakey but they are working in harmony which is great.

Also my main theme for the project is STRUCTURE which I am obviously not great at but this song has a beginning, verse, chorus, breakdown, solo and an end which Im super happy about!

I am also very much up for criticisms and comments!

really funky!

Great job sticking to a structure man, this piece has a really good flow. I like how you used texture as a defining element of each section, it works really well.

Haha.. I like how it has a kind of duct taped together vibe! Looking forward to seeing how you reign them in over the project

This is way rad. Very cool.

MOAR FM!!  That's the most growling dirty FM bass I've heard in a long time!

Ok... for CC (seeing you are asking'!): Sometimes your call and responses feel a little a bit simplistic to me.  I think the tune could sport a bit more syncopation and use 16th notes (albiet sparingly) rather than just 8ths the whole time.  Even something at the end of the bar that brings the next bar back in... follow the drums a bit more.  It does this a bit later on and is really effective.  Also I fell some of the notes could work a little tighter together (so the cut off matches a bit more).  Also, not sold on that ringing note that runs for an extended period - it kinda stuffs up the bridge section for me (almost could do with something more rhythmic in that build up toward the end too).  Thing is - most of this is just personal preference so it's hard to give CC without just sounding harsh!!

I appreciate your setting an objective and all but I think you should back off on trying to structure things so much and focus more on your realisation of harmonies (including choice of timbres). I predict that structure will eventually come. But I'm no sage.

i think this track would be much cooler with some groove/shuffle/skweee. great to hear all these toys playing nice together though, deb!

Not bad. I miss original sounds. Work on some better sounding ones. Your gear has a ton of potential. Also it could need more swing, more human touch. Turn the Quantization off sometimes. But besides that it

Thanks so much everyone for all your helpful ideas, I will be using them in week 2's track.
